Research and Empowerment

Our Vision

Our vision is a world where HIV no longer presents a threat to public health and the well-being of communities. We work tirelessly to achieve this vision by following the science, putting people first, and empowering communities to monitor and report on their wellbeing and access to healthcare.

Our Mission

At OurCARE, we are committed to making a meaningful impact on the lives of those disproportionately affected by HIV. Our mission is driven by three core principles.

1. Evidence-based Advocacy

  • Through evidence-based dialogue, we advocate for policies that prioritize the well-being of those disproportionately affected by HIV.

  • By increasing HIV-specific health literacy of those affected by HIV, we promote evidence-based advocacy and policy development.

2. Capacity Building

  • We believe in empowering change makers within communities, equipping individuals and organizations with the knowledge and skills needed to conduct research.

  • By fostering collaboration between communities affected by HIV and researchers, we strengthen the collective response to inequalities that hinders our progress toward global health goals.

3. Community-led Research

  • We recognize that communities hold valuable insights. We support community members to increase their capacity to conduct research to monitor their well-being and access to healthcare.

  • Our commitment to community-led research ensures that affected populations actively participate in shaping solutions.

  • Together, we explore innovative approaches to HIV prevention, treatment, and care.
